A donation of £3,000 has been made to the West Cumbria Society for the Blind by the Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund (CKDCF).
Money was raised following an annual sponsored walk and is also collected throughout the year from Francis Dunnery fans and friends of the charity.
Mark Andrews, fundraiser for CKDCF, said: “We donate £3,000 each year for a worker for the Society for the Blind and the same amount for a worker for Cumbria Cerebral Palsy Fund.”
Annual donations of £1,000 were also made to Greenbank Summer Scheme and Rosehill Youth Theatre.
Mark added: “We also donated £1,000 worth of sound equipment to Mayfield, in memory of our great friend, John Lynn, who died and we will make that an annual donation to upgrade their equipment.”
The CKDCF was set up by Egremont musician Francis Dunnery in memory of his parents.
