The Greenbank Community Association has received a £1,000 CKDCF donation towards their 2019 Summer Play Scheme.
The scheme is targeted at children from the Greenbank area of Whitehaven, many of whom would usually be stuck with little to do to keep them entertained during the long school summer break. Up to 100 children benefit from the scheme, contributing towards a reduction in petty crime and vandalism.
Included in the many activities provided by the Greenbank Summer Play Scheme is a day trip. For some, this is the only opportunity they have to step foot outside of the local area.
Ann Maudling, from the Community Association, said, “we are delighted and very grateful for the CKDCF’s help.”
