MAN UTD AND BLONDIE HELP CHILDREN

A SIGNED Manchester United football and a signed Noel Gallagher set-list are among the items up for grabs at a charity celebrity auction to be held tomorrow (Friday) night.

The event, to be held at The Ship Launch, Egremont, will raise money for the Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund – a charity set up by local rock star Francis Dunnery in memory of his parents.

Francis won’t be at the event due to a prior engagement, but there will be music on offer from John and Wayne and MT Arms.

The set-list signed by Oasis legend Noel Gallagher, from his recent performance at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenager Cancer Trust, is sure to be one of the most sought-after items.

But there is plenty more from the worlds of music, film, television and sport to keep the bidders happy.

Among the 70 items to be auctioned off are signed pictures of Dustin Hoffman, Steven Gerrard, Blondie’s Deborah Harry and The Saturdays, plus a programme signed by the England rugby union team.

The auction forms part of an ongoing fundraising campaign by the CKDCF and local volunteer Mark Andrews. The charity raises its money by holding a concert, walk, golf day and auction every year and hands out £500 every couple of months to causes that benefit local children.

It starts at 7 pm, there will also be a quiz and a raffle.
